Yacht charter Split

Split is the second largest city in Croatia and a port city with a very long history. Split is in more ways than one a very nice vacation destination and also sailors who want to discover the coast in Dalmatia will find in Split a very good starting point for many beautiful cruises for their yacht charter Split. Split has a beautiful historic old town, where the Diocletian's Palace from the year 300 is the center of attention. The fascinating palace was declared a World Heritage Site in 1979 and is today the biggest crowd puller in Split.

The Marina of Split

Split's marina is located in the southwestern harbor, where a large fleet of charter yachts are moored for your Split yacht charter. The modern facility on the northern side of the small peninsula of Sustipan has 364 berths and an additional 60 spaces on land. As the marina is open all year round and offers a wonderful view of Diocletian's Palace, the berths are always quickly occupied. Each berth has electricity and water connection and the adjacent Baluni Bay is a good address when it comes to swimming and sunbathing. The sanitary facilities are very clean and well-maintained, there is a small shipyard that carries out repairs, a grocery store and a store for yacht supplies. Approximately 200 m north of the entrance to the marina, there is a rock in 1.5 m of water depth that is not shown on the nautical charts. Caution is advised at this point, as several ships have already run aground there.

Exploring the coast

On the coast near Split there are many opportunities for a nice cruise on a yacht charter Split. The island of Korčula with its old fortress is an attractive destination as well as the port of Stari Grad with its good restaurants and excellent wine. Stari Gard is the oldest town in Croatia and the green of the olive groves there forms a fantastic contrast to the blue sea and the white houses. A trip to the Blue Grotto of Biševo is always worthwhile and Dubrovnik could also be on the list of destinations worth seeing if you sail along the coast from Split. If you like swimming and diving, Okuklje Bay on the island of Mljet is a good idea, as the water there is pleasantly warm and still crystal clear.
